'wall and floor art'

PAWS FOR THOUGHT. NOSES AND TAILS AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN… A new brief. The project includes advice on colours for the facelift of their new reception area for the small animals unit part of the most well known and respected animal clinic in the UK. Please note: when we recommend a colour scheme and design, as long as you follow the Yellow Jelly guidelines everything tends to fall into place. But when a design is then played with by the ‘power of medicine’. Who knows what will happen. You have been warned.

At Yellow Jelly we work to understand the function of commercial spaces. We know they need to work hard. A workspace is the home of the brand and should resonate the brands culture with both visitors and it’s employees. We design spaces that connect with them both.

We believe that a well designed space can help any business or organisation do better work. By taking time to understand our clients we design to suit the way they work.

Thanks to our Soho based interior design team, and special thanks Maria Hipwell, one of our Jelly Babies.

Great news for the Yellow Jelly team in Ipswich. Coes Department Store the family run business based in East Anglia has appointed Yellow Jelly to help develop their womenswear brand.

Coes was established in 1928 by William David Coe,  it prided itself on offering a wide range of quality clothing. That ethos remains today, as does the commitment to providing high levels of service and customer care. Their staff are friendly and knowledgeable and will always do their utmost to ensure customer satisfaction.

Unlike many independents they are a thriving enterprise that is always looking to expand and improve their facilities. Their flagship store at Norwich Road, Ipswich continues to grow and now covers over 36,000 sq ft. Throughout the group you will always find something being added, decorated, or improved. They also enjoy offering their customers new ideas and services. With this in mind, they have either relocated their shops to larger premises, or expanded into adjoining sites. The net result is to that they provide their visitors with an enhanced shopping experience.

Our first mini-project is a fashion show flyer for a show to be held at Woodbridge School in Woodbridge, Suffolk. Next we will be looking at the advertising for their Norfolk and Newmarket stores.

Yellow Jelly has been appointed to help launch and establish a new franchise in Suffolk. Tom Spring will be behind the expansion of this franchise in Suffolk. Tom, who loves the outdoors life, will be mowing like mad from April all over Suffolk. Tom, originally from Suffolk, is every bit Australian too, he spent over 20 years in Australia working for flight centre, and he has the Aussie twang to prove it. contact Tom on 01728 687605 or email tom@jimsmowingsuffolk.co.uk to reserve a cutting.

Jim’s Mowing was started in 1982 (in Melbourne, Australia) by Jim Penman – one man with a lawn mower and an urgent need to pay the rent.

With his unwavering dedication to providing excellent customer service, Jim’s business quickly outgrew what one man could handle. Trying to service his customers without compromising the quality of his work proved quite a challenge, and after trying a number of ideas, he launched the Jim’s Mowing franchise system in 1989.

Jim believed that by offering training and support to others, combined with clearly defined standards of customer service, he could build a strong reputation while attracting both clients and franchisees. The business has been so successful that there are now 2000 Jim’s Mowing franchisees worldwide, servicing over ten thousand customers every day.

Research suggests the UK is the biggest market we have yet entered and we are determined to deliver the same reliable, friendly and professional service that has made Jim’s Mowing a household name in Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Let’s get mowing…

A fun brief for Yellow Jelly. It’s a brief that really fits into the Yellow Jelly mould. Our junior creative team have really thrown themselves into the brief. “It’s like going back to nursery again” they said.  The Rectory Garden Montessori School has appointed the Yellow Jelly team to design and create a brand that really reflects the whole montissori ethos. The brief  has been key in the whole process. Aimed at the children, not just the parents. With a tone: fun, classic but natural. The proposition: A lovely place to play, explore and learn.

The Montessori concept is such a creative environment. Maria Montessori observed that children under six absorb limitlessly and effortlessly from the world around them and in doing so lay down all the foundations for later life. What is the essence of a true Montessori? Ask any child who has been educated in a genuine Montessori school who taught them to read and they will probably say… “I taught myself”. The beauty of the Montessori concept is everything in the classroom is designed to support windows of opportunity and allow children to become independent. – everything is child size, the chairs, the tables, the shelves, even their where they hang their coats. It’s their own little world and mini society. The younger children learn from watching the older children and the older ones benefit by helping the younger children. The mixed age group allows children to develop socially, intellectually and emotionally – it is an essential part of any Montessori school.

Part of the creative process for the brand will involve the children having some fun, so next week the children will be drawing, painting and engaging in creative fun. We cant wait to see what they come up with. They will be our youngest creative Jelly Babies yet.

Big thanks to Maxine on this project. Cowgirl Maxine is an up and coming Jelly Baby. And has great potential as an illustrator. Here is a link to her (needs work) ongoing site… cowgirlmax

The Brief: Seatons needs to refresh itself. It’s not about re-inventing the wheel, it needs only a slight tweak. It’s also about addressing Seaton’s current tone of voice. So Yellow Jelly has been asked to help. The first task for the team was to tweak their brand identity and apply this to update their stationery, advertising, interiors and for sale and sold boards.

Yellow Jelly London has been talking over the last few months about the launch of a new beer for the UK market. Will it happen? Who knows. We’ve had a number of strategic meetings. We’ve carried out our research. And we’ve drunk plenty of beer. The good thing is, it tastes really good.

Over the years our Jelly Babies have worked on a number of food and drink brands. Part of the team recently worked on an Adnams Annual Report, others have worked through-the-line on Carlsburg, Pilsner Urquell and Budweiser to name a few. Here is a taste of a project one of the Jelly Babies created in the past.

Taste is a subjective sensation, everyone’s palate is different. So when it comes to beer, if we all liked the same ones, life would be dull. A good beer should be handsome and beautiful, but not all beers look the same. The same applies to branding. Below is an interesting branding project carried out for a gastro brewery, the project was by Vaughen, one of our senior Jelly Babies.

MORE UPDATES SOON…
